The JJ is the most versatile premium powder ski on the market. Built with EST Freeride Rocker, the JJ dominates deep snow and still rips the hardpack on the way back to the lift. The JJ is nimble and fast edge-to-edge with a shorter turning radius than its big brother the Magic J. Patented.

Watch The JJ Perform!!!

Est Freeride Rocker-The best of all worlds. Rockered tips and tails combined with positive camber underfoot to promote flotation in soft snow and provide remarkable edge control in the harder stuff.

AR50 Sidewall-ABS sidewall meets cap construction – the best of both worlds. This engineering method combines the lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot, resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.

Ultralight Core-Using select 375kg/m3 wood stringers that have unusually high strength-to-weight ratios, UltraLight cores allow our widest skis to maintain a light-yet-stable feel.

1.7 Impact Edge-The edge height and width is deliberately smaller and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness to increase durability and decrease weight.

50/50 Base-As the name implies, the 50/50 is faster than the S7 and more rugged than the Comp Series.

Laminate Matrix-We know from the core out exactly how each ski should react, so three kinds of fiberglass laminates are used in combination to deliver the exact amount of flex and torsional rigidity. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex. Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski. And tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski. The permutations of the three fiberglasses are nearly limitless and allow us to precision tune the performance of every ski we make.

CK Stringer-A blend of Carbon/Kevlar stringers that run along the tail of the skis to help stabilize it. This creates a better landing platform, especially when your weight is further back than intended. It also increases snap and adds pop to ollies.

Marker Griffon Ski Bindings 2013

The Griffon has earned a place as the go-to freeskiing bindng in the market for anyone looking for a high performance, 13 DIN freeskiing binding.

**Please note because of the waist size of this ski, 130mm brakes are required. 130mm brakes are $40 more than the original price of the Marker Griffon Ski Bindings.**

DIN range   4 - 13
Recom. Skier's Weight   80+ lbs
Height w/o ski   22 mm
Brake Width   90mm, 110mm and 130mm
Toe System   Triple Pivot Elite
Gliding AFD   Stainless Steel, Height Adjustable*
Step-in heel   Inter-Pivot
EPS system   Dual-screw Brake Pad

  • AFD Gliding Plate-All Marker bindings are equipped with a moveable AFD (anti friction device), allowing a precise release, unhindered by dirt, snow and ice buildup. The type of AFD is matched to the skier type, ensuring perfect functionality – from racing to junior bindings and even ski touring.

  • Triple Pivot Elite Toe-With a horizontally oriented spring, the Triple Pivot Elite Toe provides the highest energy absorption to reduce the risk of early release. The secure purchase on the boot lug optimizes power transmission and allows for durable, high energy use. The performance to weight ratio of the Triple Pivot toe is truly unmatched in the industry.

  • Inter Pivot Heel-This industry-leading construction delivers superior holding power for all types of freeskiing. Its design focuses power in the direction of the boot sole, increasing elasticity. The overall design focuses on optimum power transmission.

  • Power Width Design-The original Marker breakthrough for wider freeskiing skis, based on a 76mm platform. Wider connection brackets create better power transmission for all Marker Royal Family and Tour bindings.

Fun ski, not as versatile as I had hoped

I have park, powder and all-mountain skis in my quiver. The JJs are the powder ski, and as expected they do not perform well on hard stuff. They are okay, but they aren’t as good on hard pack as an all-mountain ski is in powder – if that makes any sense. As far as a powder ski it performs really well, from soft pack and crud to the deep stuff. However if you plan on regularly getting into the really steep ‘n’ deep or charging big mountain lines you’re better off with a flat tail instead – as opposed to the rockered twin-tip the JJ has. Bottom line, this is a good ski to have as your second set, but make sure you own an all-mountain ski first.
