How does Strap Pad work?

Strap Pad has many applications while snowboarding. After installing Strap Pad to your snowboard, adjust the VELCRO strap tightly while leaving enough room to easily slide your boot in and out. After you board the chairlift, slip your back foot into the VELCRO strap and enjoy the rest of the ride. To see how it works, check out our Informational Video.

What are the benefits of having a Strap Pad?

You will immediately notice many advantages to using a Strap Pad rather than an ordinary traction pad. On the chairlift, the Strap Pad reduces strain on your ankles and knees, and completely eliminates the awkward, heavy, pulling sensation by evenly distributing the weight of your snowboard between both legs. When you exit the chairlift you will be able to use the VELCRO strap as a temporary binding in order to maintain control until you can stop and place your back foot into the rear binding. Strap Pad also reduces wear and tear on your boots from board edges, as riders using ordinary traction pads can only attempt to reduce stress on their front leg by trying to support the back half of their board with the top of their boot. Strap Pad eliminates this problem and provides riders with all the advantages above so that you can ride safely, comfortably, and with style.

Will Strap Pad fit any size boot - adult or child?

Strap Pad is a one-size-fits-all product. Simply adjust the VELCRO strap to the size of your boot and you're ready to hit the slopes!

What if my snowboard already has a traction or pad?

Old traction pads can be removed with little effort. Some traction pads can be easily removed with your fingers depending on how long it has been on your board, and others require the application of light force from a flat head screwdriver or other small instrument to pry it off. All residual adhesive must be removed from the board and the board properly cleaned with a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) and water mixture and dried before application of the Strap Pad.

As an advanced snowboarder, why should I use a Strap Pad over an ordinary traction pad?

As an advanced rider, you may not need the added stability and control that the Strap Pad gives you when getting off a chairlift. However, you will still immediately notice the added comfort Strap Pad gives you while on the lift, reducing strain on your ankles and knees, and eliminating the awkward, heavy, pulling sensation by evenly distributing the weight of your snowboard between both legs. Strap Pad also reduces wear and tear on your boots from board edges, as riders using ordinarly traction pads can only attempt to reduce stress on their front leg by trying to support the back half of their board with the top of their boot.

Can I use the product immediately after installation?

Strap Pad uses only the highest quality 3M adhesive. The peel & stick adhesive will bind to the snowboard immediately, but it is strongly recommended to wait 24 - 72 hours before the first use in order to optimize the bond strength.
