Line Mr. Pollard's Opus Powder Skis 2012: An Opus is a great work of art or literature, especially the single greatest work of a particular artist. Anyone who has seen Eric Pollard ski or anyone who has skied one of his designs would likely agree that Pollard is an artist. So it speaks volumes that he has named this ski Mr. Pollard's Opus, 13 years of development and over 70 different prototypes has resulted in what Mr. Pollard considers his best work ever. Now it means nothing to speak a big game and not back it up, fortunately the Opus is not one to fall short. While this is a bit of a departure from the previous EP Pro, in that it doesn't feel like a wet noodle, the Opus may well be the most versatile powder oriented ski on the market. At 118mm underfoot there are plenty of skis wider and with at reasonable 25cm by 15mm Early Rise in the tip and tail there are ski with more rocker but few can touch the quick and powerful combination that the Opus has. With a scant 17.2 meter radius at 185cm the Opus is not your straight line dragster, rather it's more the perfectly balanced sports car that puts a smile on your face where ever you happen to venture. Thin Tip, G-Cut Geometry, Symmetrical Flex, and a near symmetrical sidecut keep things light and nimble while the Macroblock core and full sidewall construction add power and a silky smooth feel. The Opus should be in consideration for anyone looking for a true one ski quiver.

    pollard's new pro model

Posted by bret on 3rd Oct 2011

this is pollard's new pro model, redesigned from the ground up to be skiable in all conditions, but still excel in the deep stuff. skinnier and stiffer than in years past, this ski can still rip for days after the storm without getting floppy in the crud. but the early rise keeps you up when it's deep, and the symmetrical flex helps you stomp tricks in any direction, in any condition. this is the future!

Best Powder Ski + it still turns

Posted by Matt Connelly on 3rd Oct 2011

this is a sick powder ski. stiffer than his ski in the past and still gives that pollard surf style float in powder + really fun on non powder days.
