Capita Horrorscope Snowboard 2017

One of the best urban and park boards in the game got even better for 2016/17. With a new RFC Sustainable Select Core, and proven Bitter End Deflection Tuning on the tip and tail, this Transworld Good Wood Award winner just keeps getting stronger. Featuring a throwback blunted shape with a shorter tip and tail for decreased swing weight, the CAPiTA Horrorscope snowboard allows you to size down without losing any performance. Team ridden, team designed, and the #1 selling board in CAPiTA history is a must-have deck for your quiver.

NEW! RFC SUSTAINABLE SELECT CORE™: The RFC Sustainable Select Core is the original eco-friendly core. Its proven tack record offers an environmentally conscious consumer a sustainable alternative without sacrificing any of the energy or stability expected from a CAPiTA. These cores have been reforestation certified by a leading environmental agency for nature and habitat sustainability, and made with a single species Poplar grain for a smooth, consistent ride. Extending from edge to edge and tip to tail the wood grain has no knots or finger joints enhancing response and providing a completely uniform flex pattern.

FORM 6 FIBERGLASS- The FORM 6 glass configuration consists of 612g/m2Biaxial fiberglass placed on both the base and topside of the core. Each layer has fibers oriented in zero and 90 degree angles laminated to increase energy and durability. This progressive glass configuration is laid up wet by hand during the lamination process and provides a durable predictable board that initiates turns easily, while retaining the pop necessary to handle variable conditions.

NEW! PLANT BASED EVO RESIN: Low temperature requirement, consistent and durable output. This resin system has a bio-content of 60% renewable, agricultural raw materials. It is plant based that does not compete with primary food sources and is produced with no waste or green house emissions.

HMC EXTRUDED BASE: We use a classic, time proven, extruded base material for our lower-priced utility boards. True to all extruded bases, the HMC bases are low maintenance, user-friendly bases that perform well with or without your constant waxing and attention. The HMC EXTRUDED is a special “higher molecular composition” base that is denser, more durable, and more abrasion resistant than standard extruded bases. The result is a hard, fast, and reliable base that will get you where you want to go.

Multitech™ Level 3 DeepSpace™ MidasTouch™ Metallic Silkscreen + PAM16000™ Topsheet

Voltron was awesome because it was one robot made up of a bunch of other robots. Sometimes if we find utilizing a single technique just isn’t enough, we open up the armory and stack one process on top of another!

Whether it’s a PAM16000™ printed topsheet with silkscreen embellishments, or a sublimated base with silkscreen and die-cut pieces, MULTITECH™ sends you further into DEEPSPACE™.

Our mad art scientists at The Mothership needed more power. And at CAPiTA where Everything Is Possible™, ask and ye shall receive.

PAM is now TWICE as powerful. She can make TWICE as much art. And she is TWICE the machine as she was last year. Spec’d out to the tits with a mind-bogglingSIXTEEN THOUSAND ink jet nozzles, PAM16000™ makes our knees weak, and our hearts palpatate.

She can now spit out solventless, water based UV inks at twice the speed, with the same deadly accuracy and quality.

DEEPSPACE™ AT WARPSPEED. The future is now.

Sublimation Base

Sublimation is an exact science for an inexact process. In sublimation, ink is pushed through a substrate into base material using pressure and heat.

As base material is thicker and more opaque than topsheets, graphics become more vibrant when ink impregnates the material as opposed to other techniques where the ink is applied to one side or the other. Through sublimation, ink sits closer to the sliding surface and this technique excels when full colors are required. Many long nights were spent tinkering with a complex combination of cook-times, pressure and temperature in a highly controlled environment to achieve some of CAPiTA’s signature base graphics.

PLT Topsheet Technology™

The PLT™ machine sits in a secret hidden corner of the factory behind two very unassuming, nondescript metal doors. The PLT ™ is so secretive that with the exception of its inventor, Mr. Michi Kollmann, all visitors to the room must be versed in an ever-changing secret handshake. PLT™ technology is exclusive to CAPiTA MFG and magically bonds the topsheet to an already pressed snowboard.

This is magical because the rest of the world mashes their topsheets on with glue, heat and pressure during the pressing stage. Doing so causes the fiberglass structure underneath to show through the topsheet. And because nobody wants to spend their hard earned cash on a bumpy snowboard, many companies slather their tops with a thick toxic lacquer to smooth things out. Not only is that shit HEAVY and can potentially develop unsightly hairline cracks, it’s also really unhealthy for the working environment.

The PLT™ machine produces a featherlight, smooth, high-gloss finish, without all that poisonous deadweight.

SCIENCE IS MAGIC, WAAAAHBAH!!

Bitter End Deflection Tuning | Radial Sidecut – A radial sidecut is a single radius design that allows your board to start and finish a turn on the same arc.
